We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our incredible poets Robyn, Meadhbh, and Aoife, who have been recognized for their exceptional poetry in Ulster University's prestigious annual poetry competition. Each of them received well-deserved prizes for their outstanding entries, standing out in a highly competitive field of over 400 submissions.

St. Kevin's performed exceptionally well in the competition, securing an impressive joint 2nd place overall. In addition to this, our students also received two 'Highly Commended' awards, further showcasing their talent and dedication. These remarkable achievements reflect the hard work, creativity, and passion that our poets put into their craft.

A massive well done to Robyn, Meadhbh, and Aoife for their remarkable accomplishments – we couldn’t be prouder of you all! Keep up the fantastic work!

What a fantastic week it's been focusing on online safety here at St Kevin's College! We've had a whirlwind of activity and discussion surrounding how our young people can confidently and safely navigate the ever-evolving digital world. A massive thank you to all the external speakers who visited us this week, especially our friends from the PSNI and the South West College (SWC). Your expertise and insights were invaluable, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share them with our students.

It was brilliant to see so much engagement and thoughtful questioning from our students throughout the week. They are clearly thinking seriously about their online lives and how to stay safe and responsible. The conversations sparked by our visitors have been incredibly productive, and we're confident that our students are better equipped to face the challenges and opportunities of the online world.

Safer Internet Day was on Tuesday, February 11th – and we continue to foster a safer and more informed community both within our school and beyond. This week's activities have been a fantastic prelude to the day itself, reinforcing the importance of ongoing dialogue and education around online safety.

We believe that creating a safe online environment is a collaborative effort, involving students, staff, and parents. To further support this, we're delighted to share the latest edition of the St Kevin's College E-Safety Newsletter! Packed with valuable information, tips, and resources for students, staff, and parents, this newsletter is a must-read for anyone wanting to learn more about staying safe online. You can find the newsletter here.

This Safer Internet Week has been a resounding success thanks to the contributions of our speakers, the enthusiasm of our students, and the support of our wider community. Let's continue working together to empower our young people to thrive in the digital age!
