Our Year 12 celebrated their success on Friday with a celebration day before they go on study leave! We had food and music as they celebrated what they have achieved to date - Mrs Caughey their Year head said 'As your Year Head, it has been a privilege to watch each one of you develop and grow into the fine young people you are today. I have no doubt that you will continue to believe, achieve, and succeed in whatever life has in store for you. I am very proud of you all.'

The Year 12 will now sit their final exams and await their results as they plan their future, we hope to see you soon!

We are delighted with the wonderful news released by the Education Minister that the St Kevin’s College New Building Project has got the Green Light and Funding from the Department of Education to be build in 2024/25.

The New School Building at St Kevin’s College is so needed.  The pupil number in St Kevin’s College has increased from 520 pupils in 2017 to 780 pupils in 2024.  This expansion in pupil numbers is a result of the excellent exam results the college achieves and the fantastic curriculum provision and teaching the teachers provide.

The New building will include state of the Art Facilities in Technology, Computers, Engineering, Drama, Music & the Arts to name but a few.  It will ensure that the College can grow even bigger in terms of curriculum provision and outcomes for pupils.

The Chairman of the Board of Governor Thomas O’Reilly and Principal Gary Kelly said they would especially like to thank all the members of the Board of Governors and Officials from the Department of Education for their hard work and efforts in making this new Building a reality.

Aine Murphy MLA and Sheina Rigg (HSCNI SBNI) along with Staff of Saint Kevin’s College joined together for the Staff Well Being presentation. It is said that the staff of an organisation are its most valuable assets. The well being of staff is the most important aspect in ensuring excellent outcomes for pupils and staff.

The focus on Mental Health and Well Being in St Kevin’s College mainly started at strength over the pandemic. We have started focusing on the Mental Health of our Pupils first during the pandemic as we felt that the pupils were most affected by COVID.

Their Staff Well Being Work, Gifts, Training Days, Staff Well Being Time and Ideas have been invaluable to us all. They have helped St Kevin’s College achieve this wonderful Staff Well Being Award here today.

The Staff Well Being Team will continue with their excellent work in the years ahead.  We have planned a Joint Staff Well Being Teacher Training Day with four local Primary Schools and St Kevin’s College on the 27th August 2024 were we can share our Staff Well Being ideas/work with our local feeder primary schools.
