21st June 2024

Congratulations to our fantastic Year 8 girls Gaelic team who participated in an Ulster LGFA Schools blitz in Omagh. Our girls faced some tough opposition from large A graded Tyrone, Fermanagh and Derry schools. Our A team competed against St Mary’s Magherafelt, St Ciaran’s Ballygawley, Dean Maguirc and Sperrin Integrated College. Our B team competed against Thornhill College, Mount Lourdes, St Ciaran’s Ballygawley and St Joseph’s Coalisland.

The girls did themselves, the school and their clubs proud throughout the day and their hard work in training after school over the last few months has paid off. Well done!

We were host today to BBC presenter Aodhan who interviewed Northern Irelands Niall McGinn right here in Saint Kevin's College as part of their feature BBC Comes to town - Niall spoke to the Year 8, 9 and 10 girls and boys about how he has progressed in his career and watched highlights of his football journey - there was also time for a Q and A session with the once GAA player were the students got to ask him lots of questions regarding his football, his likes and his greatest accomplishments!

We are delighted he could attend and thanks to the PE department for organizing such a good event for the students!
