Our Year 12 students dressed to impress as they stepped up to the challenge of their first mock interviews with local businesses. This invaluable experience gave them a taste of the professional world, helping them build confidence and refine their interview skills.

We are incredibly grateful to the local business owners who took the time to support our students, providing insightful feedback and encouragement. They were highly impressed by the professionalism and thoughtful responses given by our students, reinforcing the importance of preparation and communication in the interview process.

As a token of our appreciation, we treated our business partners to a delicious lunch, thanking them for their time and expertise. It was a fantastic day of learning, growth, and networking for everyone involved!

As part of our Careers Week, we were delighted to welcome back past pupil Glen Wheeler, now a celebrated chef at 28 At the Hollow. Glen joined our Year 12 students to share his journey in the culinary world and showcase his exceptional cooking skills.

During his visit, Glen prepared two stunning dishes— a rich and creamy mushroom risotto and a perfectly cooked fillet of beef. The best part? We all got to taste them, and they were absolutely delicious!

Born and raised in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, Glen’s passion for food took him far beyond his hometown. Determined to refine his craft, he trained under renowned chef Neven Maguire and became a head chef by the age of 24. His pursuit of excellence led him to some of the world's most prestigious kitchens, including Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants in London, the three-Michelin-starred Alinea in Chicago, and the globally acclaimed Noma in Copenhagen.

In 2018, Glen took a leap of faith and opened his own restaurant, 28 Darling Street in Enniskillen, alongside his wife, Zara, who manages the front of house. Nestled in a picturesque corner of Ireland, the restaurant has become a must-visit destination for food lovers.

We are incredibly grateful to Glen for taking the time to inspire our students, sharing his experiences, and, of course, treating us to an unforgettable culinary experience. His journey is a testament to hard work, passion, and the pursuit of excellence—qualities we hope to instill in all our students.

We are delighted to announce our partnership with Mannok, a collaboration that will provide invaluable opportunities for our students in the field of engineering. This initiative reflects Mannok’s strong commitment to building positive legacies in the local and wider community by investing in education, training, and career development.

Mannok has long been dedicated to working with schools, colleges, and community groups, helping to address key challenges such as skills shortages, economic inactivity, and talent retention in the region. Through this partnership, our students will gain access to practical learning experiences, industry insights, and career pathways that will support them in their future ambitions.

This collaboration is part of Mannok’s wider educational programme, which spans Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, providing young people with structured learning opportunities, apprenticeships, and career development support.

We are excited about the opportunities this will bring to our students and look forward to working together to inspire the engineers of the future!
