SCIENCE

KS3

Science is the study of how the world goes around. Whether it’s the littlest bug or the biggest solar system, through observation and experiment, Science aims to explain the unexplainable. Science has changed our lives and is vital to the world’s future prosperity, and all pupils are taught essential aspects of the knowledge, methods, processes and uses of science. They are encouraged to understand how science can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave, and analyse causes.

Throughout each year of KS3 all pupils will work through six booklets on a variety of Science topics. Through this they will be encouraged to understand how science is used, explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave and analyse causes. The KS3 Science program of study is very hands on whereby pupils will carry out a wide range of experiments. The careers focus within each booklet is addressed as well as an emphasis on promoting work placement skills.
